Quote Request Terms
These Quote Request Terms apply to all quotations, estimates, and pricing provided by Cape Ceilings and Drywalling for products, installation services, and related works.
By requesting a quotation or accepting a quote, the client agrees to the terms below.
1. Quotations Are Estimates
All quotations issued by Cape Ceilings and Drywalling are based on the information available at the time of quoting.
This may include:
- customer-supplied measurements
- photographs
- plans or drawings
- verbal descriptions
- site inspections
- product quantities requested
Where a quote is prepared without a physical site inspection, final pricing may be adjusted once the site is inspected.
2. Validity Period
Unless otherwise stated in writing, all quotations are valid for 7 days from the date of issue.
After this period, pricing may be subject to revision.
This is especially important where supplier pricing, fuel costs, and material availability may change.
3. Scope of Work
The quotation covers only the products, labour, and services specifically listed.
Any work not clearly stated in the quotation is excluded.
Examples of excluded items may include:
- electrical work
- plumbing
- painting
- cornice replacement
- structural repairs
- roof leak repairs
- removal of hidden damaged materials
Any additional work requested will be treated as a variation and may be quoted separately.
4. Measurements and Quantities
Where measurements are supplied by the customer, Cape Ceilings and Drywalling cannot be held responsible for inaccuracies resulting from incorrect dimensions.
A final site measurement may alter product quantities and pricing.
5. Material Price Changes
Prices of building materials may change without notice due to supplier increases.
If there is a delay between quotation and acceptance, pricing may need to be adjusted.
This applies especially to:
- drywall boards
- ceiling boards
- insulation products
- steel channels and framing
- suspended ceiling components
6. Site Conditions
All quotations are based on visible and reasonably known site conditions.
Unforeseen conditions may result in revised pricing.
Examples include:
- damaged roof timbers
- water damage
- weak plaster surfaces
- inaccessible roof spaces
- unsafe access
- concealed electrical obstacles
- structural defects
7. Delivery and Access Costs
Quoted prices may exclude delivery unless specifically stated.
Where site access is difficult or outside standard delivery areas, additional transport charges may apply.
8. Acceptance of Quotation
A quotation is deemed accepted once the client:
- confirms in writing
- pays a deposit
- issues a purchase order
- Instructs work to commence
Once accepted, material ordering and scheduling may begin.
9. Cancellations
If the client cancels after acceptance, the client may remain liable for:
- ordered materials
- supplier cancellation fees
- transport charges
- labour booking costs
Deposits may be retained to cover these costs.
10. Timeframes
Estimated start and completion dates are provided in good faith.
These remain subject to:
- stock availability
- weather
- supplier lead times
- access conditions
- client delays
11. Final Invoice
Final invoicing may differ from the quotation where:
- quantities change
- additional work is authorised
- site conditions differ
- delivery costs change
- supplier costs increase prior to order
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
